An amazing tour with Serendib Roots

Highly Recommended Sri Lanka Tour and Driver
We had an amazing 8-day trip in Sri Lanka. During our journey, we visited Anuradhapura, Sigiriya (Lion Rock), the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Kaudulla National Park, Dambulla Cave Temple, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, the tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya and Ella, enjoyed the scenic train ride to the Nine Arches Bridge, visited a turtle hatchery and Turtle Beach, and explored Galle and Colombo. Our driver, Ruvindu, was excellent. He drove very safely throughout the trip and gave us many helpful recommendations, including the best times to visit each attraction, great photo spots, places where we could see turtles, and good local restaurants. His knowledge and advice made our trip even more enjoyable. Serendib Roots provided a comfortable, well-maintained vehicle and regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well during our trip. A fantastic 3 weeks long tour with an italian speaking guide
3-week tour (2 adults and 3 children) aboard a spacious and always clean van, with a very attentive and responsible driver and Ashen, a smart, polite and kind young man born in Sri Lanka and who lived for a long time between Sicily and Veneto, and therefore able to speak excellent Italian. The guides were attentive, never intrusive, very kind to us and very gentle with the children. They were extremely helpful with the advice and explanations they provided throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
We had a great road trip in Sri Lanka
We had a great time with our driver Udara. We travelled 12 days together and enjoyed the road trip. Udara was always on time, helpful and really friendly. He told us a lot about the country and we enjoyed the trip together. Udara is a really good driver and we felt safe all the time. He gave us some good recommendations about the area and things to do. I Will recommend serendib roots and Udara for my friends if they travel to Sri Lanka.
Fantastic Sri Lanka Road Trip
Just back from a fantastic family holiday in Sri Lanka (August 2025). We booked with Sihan at Serendib Roots and spent 14 days on a loop from Colombo taking in Sigiriya, Kaudulla National Park, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Ella, Arugam Bay, and Galle Fort. As a family, we're used to independent travel but this was the first time we had hired a driver for a multi-day trip so we were a bit unsure of what to expect. Sihan was excellent. Besides taking care of all our travel needs, he was a very helpful in suggesting and organising day trips. He's also a great guide and took time to show and explain a lot of things in the places we visited. Last, but most importantly, all the family got along really well with him and his colleague Thilan. We enjoyed spending time with them, they were there when we needed them, and gave us space to do our own things too. Together they helped to make this such a great holiday and my only regret is that we didn't involve them earlier in the planning. Go with these guys... seriously, you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful 9 day tour in Sri Lanka with Serendib Roots: ancient cities, hill country, the southern coast
We spent 9 full days in Sri Lanka in June 2025 visiting ancient cities, hill country, the southern coast, and Colombo. Sihan at Serendib Roots and Nadun, our driver and guide throughout, were incredible partners in helping us plan and execute this wonderful trip. Sihan reviewed our itinerary with us in detail and provided feedback and helpful info, then made sure our arrival in Sri Lanka was smooth. He worked with Nadun on the ground during our trip on the detailed itinerary and securing elements like site guides to ensure a seamless and efficient experience. Nadun in turn was integral in making sure our trip was fun and relaxing, providing a smooth and comfortable ride, and sharing his insights and showing us around. He picked us up at the airport in his green Honda Fit after our long flight and drove us through the night to our first destination, suggested rest stops at spice gardens and tea plantations, and answered all of our questions about what we were seeing and experiencing. A really great experience
I can’t recommend these guys enough. Even before I decided to book with them, Sihanouk was on the phone with me helping me plan my trip, coordinate logistics, and book my train tickets. He won me over among all the other vendors I was talking to. He was constantly checking in throughout the trip, and coordinating with the driver to ensure things were going smoothly. Nadun, my driver, was amazing. What stood out was his attitude and demeanor - always a smile on his face, even during consecutive early morning pick ups. Such a wonderful experience with Serendib Roots
We arranged a trip to celebrate our honeymoon. Mr Sihan helped with booking amazing hotels in Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Yala and Galle. The hotels selected for our stay were comfortable, clean, and well-located. He offered unconditional support before and during the trip. Great start to our holiday!
Collected from Columbo airport and driven 2.5 hours to our hotel I In Weligama. Really pleased with the service, driver was waiting for us with our name on a board when we arrived. Nice clean vehicle with great AC! Would highly recommend
Family SL trip
We did a 2 week trip from Colombo airport around SL and back. We chose this company for transport due to good reviews and competitive pricing. Dilshan was our driver, although he was not who we had initially booked. He did not speak English even though we were told he could but he was kind and always prompt and on time. Thankfully we had a good idea of our itinerary and activities as otherwise the language may have been problematic. The van was spacious, always cleaned after each journey and they went out of their way to provide our youngest a child seat. Overall, it met our needs for the trip. Excellent car and driver service
Found Serendib Roots on Google - whatsapp comms were quick, polite and professional which was appreciated. We hired a car for the duration of our visit. Romindu our driver met us at the airport and drove us for 8 days. He is a safe and calm driver. We always felt comfortable. He went above and beyond including when we forgot items back at the hotel - would recommend without hesitation. Toyota Hiace was clean, in perfect condition as was the baby seat. Overall, we had a stress free holiday with Romindu and will use Serendib Roots next time we return to the beautiful country of Sri Lanka.
Recommended taxi transfers
We used Serendib Roots for 2 taxi transfers, the first from Galle to Udawalae, the second from Kandy to Negombo. On both occasions the cars were comfortable, and the drivers were prompt, helpful and polite. Communications with the company via whatsapp were excellent. I would recommend the company.
3-day trip from Colombo to Hiriketiya via Nuwara Eliya
Had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We left booking until the last minute but Sihan was very quick to communicate and arrange without hassle. We booked with Nadun who kindly drove my sister and I from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya and Hiriketiya — considering the length and difficulty of the road we took, Nadun was great! Super friendly, very attentive and caring, and made pit stops to show us the important sights along the way. We also felt super safe, so to any female travelers out there, I highly recommend booking with Sihan’s company!
Superb Service and friendly staff
We found Serenib roots on Google and used them for airport transfer from Colombo to Galle. From the beginning they have been very responsive in communications and catered to our needs very well. They even managed to get a baby seat for my one year old daughter. The transfer was seamless from airport pickup right to our hotel in Unawatuna. The vehicle they used was clean and very comfortable. I would have loved to book them for tours my our stay was too short. We used them again for airport transfer back to Colombo 10 stars for service excellence Would definitely recommend

Good drivers/vans for multi day transfer
Had a great experience with Serendib Roots. There was good communication prior and during the trips to confirm details and check all going okay etc. Used multiple day transfers and all drivers and van were good quality with good spoken English and useful suggestions on places to stop etc. Good value overall, would recommend.
The best tour company in Sri Lanka!
Sihan, the owner of Serendib Roots was first of all, amazing. Despite the time difference between US and Sri Lanka, he was very communicative, and collaborative with my trip planning process. I had a rough idea of my travel itinerary and Sihan recommended cultural shows, local attractions, shopping areas, and restaurants to check out. If you want a hands-on travel partner, then Sihan is your guy. He was also able to make reservations for me and even helped me hire a local photographer (Kavindu) for a family photoshoot. Next, I want to talk about our driver, Ashen. While Ashen actually replaced our initially assigned driver at the beginning of the trip (the original driver unfortunately had some last-minute medical issues), he was a great driver. He was very an expert and safe driver, and always got us to places on time. Ashen was prompt, very kind, and rolled with our last-minute plan changes and requests. Our van was also very spacious (KDH flat roof type van) and clean and made travel for my group of 5 very easy. Sihan and Ashen really made our trip memorable and stress-free and I would highly recommend them to ANYONE looking to travel to Sri Lanka.
Wonderful, safe driver and great communication
Our driver was excellent. We had a 7 hr journey with very bad rain and we felt very safe with him. He was professional and made stops when we needed to eat. He also took us to a wonderful restaurant off the beaten path in Polonnaruwa. The company was very responsive on whatsApp to all my questions. We got door to door service on difficult roads. Excellent trip with Sihan and Thilan
We (two adults and two teenagers) spent 8 days travelling through Sri Lanka with Serendib Roots company (guide Sihan and driver Thilan) and we fully recommend them! Our guide Sihan was very friendly and professional and helped us to plan everything and arranged all accommodation and safaris (jeep and entrance fees with priority access). Everything was perfect. When we wanted to change something, it was no problem. Sihan arranged everything immediately. He also advised us and helped arrange accommodation after the end of our trip. His knowledge of Sri Lanka is deep and we learned a lot of interesting things from him. He made our Sri Lanka journey unforgettable! Thilan's driving skills are just incredible. He always made us feel save even in chaotic Sri Lanka's traffic. Our car was in perfect condition and always clean, with A/C and wifi. We would like to thank both of them and definitely recommed!
Wonderful experience as a family
We have been travelling with Sihan during our two weeks tour through Sri Lanka - with our three kids, age 2, 5 and 7. And we were extremely happy: Sihan was always able to accommodate to our needs as a family (e.g. spend some time at playgrounds, pit-stops on the way, ...), he organised entry/train/... tickets or national park guides for us, had brilliant recommendations for e.g. restaurants, etc. Most importantly for us was his flexibility, as plans change when travelling with little kids :) and he marvelously navigated this. For us as parents, his hospitality and knowledge about country, sites, animals, culture, etc. was superb and helped, to explore Sri Lanka through a knowledgeable guide. We would always take him and his driver again and certainly recommend him - 5 out of 5, clearly.
Good experience with Serendib and Chaminda across Sri Lanka
We had a good experience with Serendib and Chaminda. We were with him for 4 days and he was always on time, with a good mood and trying to help. Just keep in mind that the drivers are not guides, but they help on whatever they can. For us it was a good experience because we knew the places and we wanted to visit and we asked him to drive us there. We also got some good recommendation of spots and itinerary from Serendib manager when booking the tour. He was always very responsive and checking in. We ended up using their services again in the same trip, so id recommend them and would use their services again

An outstanding experience
We did 12 days around Sri Lanka with our driver Chaminda. Right from the start there was a wonderful relationship with the driver to the point that he also became a member of the travel group. His presence undoubtedly made everything easier and even fun. I absolutely recommend him!
Punctual, flexible, comfortable and great attention to detail
We were impressed with the service provided by Sihan at Serendib Roots. He was super-efficient, flexible, and always responsive to our WhatsApp messages. We used Serendib Roots for transfers only as we did not need a guide for this trip, nor did we want a full-time driver/car. Instead, we gave Sihan our itinerary, dates, addresses, and approximate pick-up times when transport was required. We found this was the most time-efficient and cost-efficient way to get from A to B on the long legs. Also, it allowed us to do our own thing when we got to each destination where we preferred walking the streets, tuk-tuks, mountain treks and trains. This way, we mixed with the locals and got a real feel for the country. Each driver and car arrived promptly and got us safely and comfortably to our destination. If you want a good value and reliable transport service, we highly recommend Sihan and Serendib Roots. Apparenly, very few driver-hire companies provide this flexibility so we were fortunate to find Sihan! Our itinerary included Negombo - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Hapitale - Ella - Galoya - Arugam Bay - Galle - Colombo.

Beautiful country, friendly people and a wonderful driver who added to the experience
The 4 of us did a 5 day trip to Kandy, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Ella and Colombo. Sihan coordinated with me prior to the trip, even preparing an itinerary based on our planned destinations. He kept me well informed of all the trip details, so it was wonderfully easy for us. Chaminda was our driver for the trip and he's simply the most jovial guy! Very accommodating throughout the trip and took amazing care of us - making sure we crossed the streets safely, kept us hydrated, checked all our meal locations before letting us alight, and he would always contact us to ensure everything was alright with our accommodations. Even after our trip with him was over, he offered to meet up with us on our free & easy day in Colombo if we needed any assistance, checked to ensure we made it to the airport and also got home safely. We had a great time and Chaminda only added to it - complete with singalongs in the van (he has a good singing voice)! As Chaminda says, "you are my family" and he certainly treated us like family.

A fantastic tour made so easy
We had a wonderful experience with Sihan (guide) and Thilan (driver) over 2 weeks. Sihan was very helpful in the planning of the trip – sent good suggestions, booked train tickets and various activities. But was also happy for me to book some things myself. Didn’t feel pushed into anything at all – a nice collaboration. We were met at the airport in the middle of the night and everything was very easy. Thilan’s van is very comfortable. Loads of space for the 4 of us, always immaculately clean and tidy and very cool. There is WiFi which is so useful. Throughout the tour, Sihan had lots of great suggestions but also lots of flexibility as we planned each day. His English is excellent and he had lots of information on the culture, wildlife and history of this amazing country. There were a number of occasions where he really elevated our visit with local knowledge eg understanding what was happening on a temple. We had never had a driver before and are used to travelling independently but found the whole experience really great. My son’s birthday was also made very special. Chaminda is a legend, brilliant company 👏
Just arrived back from a month in Sri Lanka. We used Serendib Roots for the first week of our trip. Our driver Chaminda was a great guy and he really made that week memorable. He took us to some really local spots that were amazing and showed us how to play carrom. He really looked out for us and treated us like his family. Sihan made the experience really easy to organise, and whenever we changed our mind about the plan for week, both Sihan and Chaminda were happy as long as we were happy. The elephant safari near mineriya was the highlight of our whole month! Overall really worth the money they charge and would highly recommend and use again when we come back. A trip too far... enchanting and exhilarating!!
Indians are tourists with a twist. We travel with family and our itinerary includes religious, fun, mountains, beaches, cities. We want to do it all!! We have returned from our trip to Sri Lanka where we were there for 14 nights. We travelled through Dambulla, Kandy, Ella, Udawalawe and Mirissa. Our driver was Lakshan. We travelled in a KDH van. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Our itinerary was planned in advance and Lakshan made sure to comply with it and accommodate our requirements. One stop shop for a great custom experience
We took a custom trip from Mirrisa to Sigiriya to Kandy (1st day) and from Kandy to Ella to Mirrisa with a tour at Damro Labookelie Tea Estate. The trip was a great experience- we had very limited amount of time but we wanted to see as much of the island as possible tk get a glimpse of its history, culture, nature. Ramayana highlights, best tour company
We came to Sri Lanka to see Ramayana places and tour agency provided us everything we wanted. They gave us a good vehicle and driver. Happy about the service. Food in hotels could be little more improved. But it was all good and nothing to complain. We enjoyed it all with friends. Thank you team we will see again with our families.
Cool Tour Driver
I didn't know about this travel Agent before, just knew after my hotel booking was done. So I just took the transport package tour only from this travel agency. It was nice, the tour driver was so friendly and helpful and the staff Who were responsible on giving info by chat also always responded to our chat and questions very quickly with nice conversation flow. Also they had big patience to me when offering me the tourism place because I am a picky and difficult person to satisfy. :P They did their best so I highly recommend Serendib Roots to any tourist.

I booked the Highlights of Sri Lanka tour via Trip Crafters and I was really impressed with Serendib Roots' handling of the entire trip. We were met at the airport by our tour guide Ruwan and we immediately felt at ease. His English was excellent and his knowledge of Sri Lanka (especially its birds and plants) was extensive. The car was spacious and comfortable and our driver was really good and so patient considering the windy and busy roads he had to navigate! We were constantly offered bottled water and wipes on all trips to keep us cool Ruwan always made sure that we were safe, especially when crossing roads. I was struck by how professional the whole operation was and I think a lot of travel companies in the Italy could learn a thing or two from Serendib Roots Tours about customer service!

We had a wonderful tour in Sri Lanka with Serendib Roots. We traveled most of the World Heritage UNESCO sites and peaceful destinations within 8 days and it was all brilliant. Shehan did the tour planning for us from office and Kasun made the rest of the tour perfect. He is one of the amazing persons I have ever met and my vocabulary is not enough to explain how professional and enthusiastic he was during our tour. This is a truly a well set up business with so much of energy among all of the staff we have dealt with and I must say this bunch of guys could compete with any other world class tour operators in the world. It was so sad to hear about what had happened in Sri Lanka during the Easter Sunday but now the country is back on it's regular tracks, we saw it while we were traveling all over the country they are rising up. Anyway, all the locations and places we visited were excellent and the hotels were of very high standard. We took a round tour on Sri Lanka tour with Serendib Roots (booked via TourHQ). We can not sufficiently say how good it all was. The main merit goes to our guide Lasantha, thanks to his knowledge, his professionalism and his humor, made our trip unforgettable! He was extremely friendly and always available to answer all our questions. He even made an extra effort to arrange a very scenic train ride (which was not part of our original itinerary, but which we really wanted to do) from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya to make our visit to Sri Lanka perfect. A mention must be made to our driver Lasantha and to the assistance given from office by Dehemi, who were both very professional and polite, which made our trip extremely comfortable. I hope we will return to Sri Lanka someday in the future, and if we do, we will definitely book again with Serendib Roots!

Wonderful service ! the tour excursions we had to Yala National Park and Mirissa whales watching was amazing! We would not have that experience in that much exciting if it wasn't Serendib Roots. From the very first day we contacted Serendib Roots to get a tour package their team was very responsive and timely. I requested so many changes in my package and Ms.Dehemi from their team exceptionally assisted me in all the ways. They provided me with a best price so I had need to look for something else. The hotels booked were all up to standards and the driver Kalum was exceptionally amazing, helped us get all we wanted and he was always punctual. Only thing was the entrance fees in Sri Lanka at sightseeings which were much higher than we expected. But everything, all the experiences we got were priceless. Highly Recommended Sri Lanka Tour and Driver
We had an amazing 8-day trip in Sri Lanka. During our journey, we visited Anuradhapura, Sigiriya (Lion Rock), the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Kaudulla National Park, Dambulla Cave Temple, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, the tea plantations around Nuwara Eliya and Ella, enjoyed the scenic train ride to the Nine Arches Bridge, visited a turtle hatchery and Turtle Beach, and explored Galle and Colombo. Our driver, Ruvindu, was excellent. He drove very safely throughout the trip and gave us many helpful recommendations, including the best times to visit each attraction, great photo spots, places where we could see turtles, and good local restaurants. His knowledge and advice made our trip even more enjoyable. A fantastic 3 weeks long tour with an italian speaking guide
3-week tour (2 adults and 3 children) aboard a spacious and always clean van, with a very attentive and responsible driver and Ashen, a smart, polite and kind young man born in Sri Lanka and who lived for a long time between Sicily and Veneto, and therefore able to speak excellent Italian. The guides were attentive, never intrusive, very kind to us and very gentle with the children. They were extremely helpful with the advice and explanations they provided throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
We had a great road trip in Sri Lanka
We had a great time with our driver Udara. We travelled 12 days together and enjoyed the road trip. Udara was always on time, helpful and really friendly. He told us a lot about the country and we enjoyed the trip together. Udara is a really good driver and we felt safe all the time. He gave us some good recommendations about the area and things to do. Fantastic Sri Lanka Road Trip
Just back from a fantastic family holiday in Sri Lanka (August 2025). We booked with Sihan at Serendib Roots and spent 14 days on a loop from Colombo taking in Sigiriya, Kaudulla National Park, Polonnaruwa, Kandy, Ella, Arugam Bay, and Galle Fort. As a family, we're used to independent travel but this was the first time we had hired a driver for a multi-day trip so we were a bit unsure of what to expect. Sihan was excellent. Besides taking care of all our travel needs, he was a very helpful in suggesting and organising day trips. He's also a great guide and took time to show and explain a lot of things in the places we visited. Last, but most importantly, all the family got along really well with him and his colleague Thilan. We enjoyed spending time with them, they were there when we needed them, and gave us space to do our own things too. Together they helped to make this such a great holiday and my only regret is that we didn't involve them earlier in the planning. Go with these guys... seriously, you won't be disappointed!

We spent 9 full days in Sri Lanka in June 2025 visiting ancient cities, hill country, the southern coast, and Colombo. Sihan at Serendib Roots and Nadun, our driver and guide throughout, were incredible partners in helping us plan and execute this wonderful trip. Sihan reviewed our itinerary with us in detail and provided feedback and helpful info, then made sure our arrival in Sri Lanka was smooth. He worked with Nadun on the ground during our trip on the detailed itinerary and securing elements like site guides to ensure a seamless and efficient experience. Nadun in turn was integral in making sure our trip was fun and relaxing, providing a smooth and comfortable ride, and sharing his insights and showing us around. He picked us up at the airport in his green Honda Fit after our long flight and drove us through the night to our first destination, suggested rest stops at spice gardens and tea plantations, and answered all of our questions about what we were seeing and experiencing. A really great experience
I can’t recommend these guys enough. Even before I decided to book with them, Sihanouk was on the phone with me helping me plan my trip, coordinate logistics, and book my train tickets. He won me over among all the other vendors I was talking to. He was constantly checking in throughout the trip, and coordinating with the driver to ensure things were going smoothly. Nadun, my driver, was amazing. What stood out was his attitude and demeanor - always a smile on his face, even during consecutive early morning pick ups. Family SL trip
We did a 2 week trip from Colombo airport around SL and back. We chose this company for transport due to good reviews and competitive pricing. Dilshan was our driver, although he was not who we had initially booked. He did not speak English even though we were told he could but he was kind and always prompt and on time. Thankfully we had a good idea of our itinerary and activities as otherwise the language may have been problematic. The van was spacious, always cleaned after each journey and they went out of their way to provide our youngest a child seat. Overall, it met our needs for the trip. Excellent car and driver service
Found Serendib Roots on Google - whatsapp comms were quick, polite and professional which was appreciated. We hired a car for the duration of our visit. Romindu our driver met us at the airport and drove us for 8 days. He is a safe and calm driver. We always felt comfortable. He went above and beyond including when we forgot items back at the hotel - would recommend without hesitation. Toyota Hiace was clean, in perfect condition as was the baby seat. Overall, we had a stress free holiday with Romindu and will use Serendib Roots next time we return to the beautiful country of Sri Lanka.
Recommended taxi transfers
We used Serendib Roots for 2 taxi transfers, the first from Galle to Udawalae, the second from Kandy to Negombo. On both occasions the cars were comfortable, and the drivers were prompt, helpful and polite. Communications with the company via whatsapp were excellent. I would recommend the company.
3-day trip from Colombo to Hiriketiya via Nuwara Eliya
Had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We left booking until the last minute but Sihan was very quick to communicate and arrange without hassle. We booked with Nadun who kindly drove my sister and I from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya and Hiriketiya — considering the length and difficulty of the road we took, Nadun was great! Super friendly, very attentive and caring, and made pit stops to show us the important sights along the way. We also felt super safe, so to any female travelers out there, I highly recommend booking with Sihan’s company!
Superb Service and friendly staff
We found Serenib roots on Google and used them for airport transfer from Colombo to Galle. From the beginning they have been very responsive in communications and catered to our needs very well. They even managed to get a baby seat for my one year old daughter. The transfer was seamless from airport pickup right to our hotel in Unawatuna. The vehicle they used was clean and very comfortable. I would have loved to book them for tours my our stay was too short. We used them again for airport transfer back to Colombo 10 stars for service excellence Would definitely recommend

There was good communication prior and during the trips to confirm details and check all going okay etc. Used multiple day transfers and all drivers and van were good quality with good spoken English and useful suggestions on places to stop etc. Good value overall, would recommend.
The best tour company in Sri Lanka!
Sihan, the owner of Serendib Roots was first of all, amazing. Despite the time difference between US and Sri Lanka, he was very communicative, and collaborative with my trip planning process. I had a rough idea of my travel itinerary and Sihan recommended cultural shows, local attractions, shopping areas, and restaurants to check out. If you want a hands-on travel partner, then Sihan is your guy. He was also able to make reservations for me and even helped me hire a local photographer (Kavindu) for a family photoshoot. Next, I want to talk about our driver, Ashen. While Ashen actually replaced our initially assigned driver at the beginning of the trip (the original driver unfortunately had some last-minute medical issues), he was a great driver. He was very an expert and safe driver, and always got us to places on time. Ashen was prompt, very kind, and rolled with our last-minute plan changes and requests. Our van was also very spacious (KDH flat roof type van) and clean and made travel for my group of 5 very easy. Sihan and Ashen really made our trip memorable and stress-free and I would highly recommend them to ANYONE looking to travel to Sri Lanka.
Wonderful, safe driver and great communication
Our driver was excellent. We had a 7 hr journey with very bad rain and we felt very safe with him. He was professional and made stops when we needed to eat. Excellent trip with Sihan and Thilan
We (two adults and two teenagers) spent 8 days travelling through Sri Lanka with Serendib Roots company (guide Sihan and driver Thilan) and we fully recommend them! Our guide Sihan was very friendly and professional and helped us to plan everything and arranged all accommodation and safaris (jeep and entrance fees with priority access). Everything was perfect. When we wanted to change something, it was no problem. Sihan arranged everything immediately. He also advised us and helped arrange accommodation after the end of our trip. His knowledge of Sri Lanka is deep and we learned a lot of interesting things from him. He made our Sri Lanka journey unforgettable! Thilan's driving skills are just incredible. He always made us feel save even in chaotic Sri Lanka's traffic. Our car was in perfect condition and always clean, with A/C and wifi. We would like to thank both of them and definitely recommed!
Wonderful experience as a family
We have been travelling with Sihan during our two weeks tour through Sri Lanka - with our three kids, age 2, 5 and 7. And we were extremely happy: Sihan was always able to accommodate to our needs as a family (e.g. spend some time at playgrounds, pit-stops on the way, ...), he organised entry/train/... tickets or national park guides for us, had brilliant recommendations for e.g. restaurants, etc. Most importantly for us was his flexibility, as plans change when travelling with little kids :) and he marvelously navigated this. For us as parents, his hospitality and knowledge about country, sites, animals, culture, etc. was superb and helped, to explore Sri Lanka through a knowledgeable guide. Good experience with Serendib and Chaminda across Sri Lanka
We had a good experience with Serendib and Chaminda. We were with him for 4 days and he was always on time, with a good mood and trying to help. Just keep in mind that the drivers are not guides, but they help on whatever they can. For us it was a good experience because we knew the places and we wanted to visit and we asked him to drive us there. We also got some good recommendation of spots and itinerary from Serendib manager when booking the tour. He was always very responsive and checking in. We ended up using their services again in the same trip, so id recommend them and would use their services again

An outstanding experience
We did 12 days around Sri Lanka with our driver Chaminda. Right from the start there was a wonderful relationship with the driver to the point that he also became a member of the travel group. His presence undoubtedly made everything easier and even fun. I absolutely recommend him!
Punctual, flexible, comfortable and great attention to detail
We were impressed with the service provided by Sihan at Serendib Roots. He was super-efficient, flexible, and always responsive to our WhatsApp messages. We used Serendib Roots for transfers only as we did not need a guide for this trip, nor did we want a full-time driver/car. Instead, we gave Sihan our itinerary, dates, addresses, and approximate pick-up times when transport was required. We found this was the most time-efficient and cost-efficient way to get from A to B on the long legs. Also, it allowed us to do our own thing when we got to each destination where we preferred walking the streets, tuk-tuks, mountain treks and trains. This way, we mixed with the locals and got a real feel for the country. Each driver and car arrived promptly and got us safely and comfortably to our destination. If you want a good value and reliable transport service, we highly recommend Sihan and Serendib Roots. Apparenly, very few driver-hire companies provide this flexibility so we were fortunate to find Sihan! Our itinerary included Negombo - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Hapitale - Ella - Galoya - Arugam Bay - Galle - Colombo.

Beautiful country, friendly people and a wonderful driver who added to the experience
The 4 of us did a 5 day trip to Kandy, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Ella and Colombo. Sihan coordinated with me prior to the trip, even preparing an itinerary based on our planned destinations. He kept me well informed of all the trip details, so it was wonderfully easy for us. Chaminda was our driver for the trip and he's simply the most jovial guy! Very accommodating throughout the trip and took amazing care of us - making sure we crossed the streets safely, kept us hydrated, checked all our meal locations before letting us alight, and he would always contact us to ensure everything was alright with our accommodations. Even after our trip with him was over, he offered to meet up with us on our free & easy day in Colombo if we needed any assistance, checked to ensure we made it to the airport and also got home safely. We had a great time and Chaminda only added to it - complete with singalongs in the van (he has a good singing voice)! As Chaminda says, "you are my family" and he certainly treated us like family.

A fantastic tour made so easy
We had a wonderful experience with Sihan (guide) and Thilan (driver) over 2 weeks. Sihan was very helpful in the planning of the trip – sent good suggestions, booked train tickets and various activities. But was also happy for me to book some things myself. Didn’t feel pushed into anything at all – a nice collaboration. We were met at the airport in the middle of the night and everything was very easy. Thilan’s van is very comfortable. Loads of space for the 4 of us, always immaculately clean and tidy and very cool. There is WiFi which is so useful. Throughout the tour, Sihan had lots of great suggestions but also lots of flexibility as we planned each day. His English is excellent and he had lots of information on the culture, wildlife and history of this amazing country. There were a number of occasions where he really elevated our visit with local knowledge eg understanding what was happening on a temple. He took us to some really local spots that were amazing and showed us how to play carrom. He really looked out for us and treated us like his family. Sihan made the experience really easy to organise, and whenever we changed our mind about the plan for week, both Sihan and Chaminda were happy as long as we were happy. The elephant safari near mineriya was the highlight of our whole month! Overall really worth the money they charge and would highly recommend and use again when we come back. A trip too far... enchanting and exhilarating!!
Indians are tourists with a twist. We travel with family and our itinerary includes religious, fun, mountains, beaches, cities. We want to do it all!! Sihan showed amazing understanding of the needs of such travel requirements, unlimited patience to hear my itinerary and suggest possibilities and go above and beyond to provide a Hindi speaking driver who also was very good. Amazing Driver & Fantastic Service!
We have returned from our trip to Sri Lanka where we were there for 14 nights. We travelled through Dambulla, Kandy, Ella, Udawalawe and Mirissa. Our driver was Lakshan. We travelled in a KDH van. We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Our itinerary was planned in advance and Lakshan made sure to comply with it and accommodate our requirements. We were travelling in sync with another group and they made sure to keep our itinerary in line with theirs. Lakshan was always available to answer any queries or questions and the whole service was very professional and recommended. Lakshan was the best driver we could have asked for. We were so blessed to have him with us and he became the seventh member of our holiday! One stop shop for a great custom experience
We took a custom trip from Mirrisa to Sigiriya to Kandy (1st day) and from Kandy to Ella to Mirrisa with a tour at Damro Labookelie Tea Estate. The trip was a great experience- we had very limited amount of time but we wanted to see as much of the island as possible tk get a glimpse of its history, culture, nature. Ramayana highlights, best tour company
We came to Sri Lanka to see Ramayana places and tour agency provided us everything we wanted. They gave us a good vehicle and driver. Happy about the service. Food in hotels could be little more improved. But it was all good and nothing to complain. We enjoyed it all with friends. Thank you team we will see again with our families.
Cool Tour Driver
I didn't know about this travel Agent before, just knew after my hotel booking was done. So I just took the transport package tour only from this travel agency. It was nice, the tour driver was so friendly and helpful and the staff Who were responsible on giving info by chat also always responded to our chat and questions very quickly with nice conversation flow. Also they had big patience to me when offering me the tourism place because I am a picky and difficult person to satisfy. :P They did their best so I highly recommend Serendib Roots to any tourist.

I booked the Highlights of Sri Lanka tour via Trip Crafters and I was really impressed with Serendib Roots' handling of the entire trip. We were met at the airport by our tour guide Ruwan and we immediately felt at ease. His English was excellent and his knowledge of Sri Lanka (especially its birds and plants) was extensive. The car was spacious and comfortable and our driver was really good and so patient considering the windy and busy roads he had to navigate! We were constantly offered bottled water and wipes on all trips to keep us cool Ruwan always made sure that we were safe, especially when crossing roads. I was struck by how professional the whole operation was and I think a lot of travel companies in the Italy could learn a thing or two from Serendib Roots Tours about customer service!

Okay let me tell you in short, they really made me see real Sri Lanka and made me feel safe in all the ways. Wait, it isn't enough! We had a wonderful tour in Sri Lanka with Serendib Roots. We traveled most of the World Heritage UNESCO sites and peaceful destinations within 8 days and it was all brilliant. Shehan did the tour planning for us from office and Kasun made the rest of the tour perfect. He is one of the amazing persons I have ever met and my vocabulary is not enough to explain how professional and enthusiastic he was during our tour. This is a truly a well set up business with so much of energy among all of the staff we have dealt with and I must say this bunch of guys could compete with any other world class tour operators in the world. It was so sad to hear about what had happened in Sri Lanka during the Easter Sunday but now the country is back on it's regular tracks, we saw it while we were traveling all over the country they are rising up. Anyway, all the locations and places we visited were excellent and the hotels were of very high standard. I would highly recommend Serendib Roots without any hesitation and we are already planning our next Sri Lanka holiday for the next year.

Serendib Roots were outstanding in planning and the delivery of our family vacation to Sri Lanka. This company was reliable, professional and organised a brilliant 8 days tour package for us. The situation in the country was all getting better while we were on tour and they made sure the safety of us in all the ways. And now Sri Lanka is safe for tourists I can say. Our driver, Sudath, was excellent ensuring that we had the right balance of fun activities and rest time. We had a fantastic variety of activities and greatly enjoyed. The the quality of the hotels could have been a little more better, specially the food. Hotel people need to provide a better service for tourists. But overall it was a superb experience. We took a round tour on Sri Lanka tour with Serendib Roots (booked via TourHQ). We can not sufficiently say how good it all was. The main merit goes to our guide Lasantha, thanks to his knowledge, his professionalism and his humor, made our trip unforgettable! He was extremely friendly and always available to answer all our questions. He even made an extra effort to arrange a very scenic train ride (which was not part of our original itinerary, but which we really wanted to do) from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya to make our visit to Sri Lanka perfect. A mention must be made to our driver Lasantha and to the assistance given from office by Dehemi, who were both very professional and polite, which made our trip extremely comfortable. I hope we will return to Sri Lanka someday in the future, and if we do, we will definitely book again with Serendib Roots!

Wonderful service ! the tour excursions we had to Yala National Park and Mirissa whales watching was amazing! We would not have that experience in that much exciting if it wasn't Serendib Roots. From the very first day we contacted Serendib Roots to get a tour package their team was very responsive and timely. I requested so many changes in my package and Ms.Dehemi from their team exceptionally assisted me in all the ways. They provided me with a best price so I had need to look for something else. The hotels booked were all up to standards and the driver Kalum was exceptionally amazing, helped us get all we wanted and he was always punctual. Only thing was the entrance fees in Sri Lanka at sightseeings which were much higher than we expected. But everything, all the experiences we got were priceless.
